Veggies: Wondrous Nutrition
To help make it easier to get veggies on the plate, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently introduced its new icon, MyPlate, a plate divided into four color-coded sections representing vegetables, fruit, grains and protein, with dairy on the side. The easy-to-interpret design is meant to help consumers make healthier food choices—including filling half their plate with vegetables and fruits.
