Directions

Step one
Whisk together 1 tablespoon cornstarch, baking soda, and 2 tablespoons soy sauce in medium bowl. Add beef to bowl and toss to coat. Set aside for about 20 minutes.
-
Step two
Whisk together remaining 1 tablespoon cornstarch, ¼-cup soy sauce, ¼-cup water, brown sugar, and sesame oil in small bowl.
-
Step three
Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef to skillet and spread in single layer. Cook until deeply browned on the first side, about 2 minutes. Stir and cook until browned all over but still pink in the center, about a minute. Pour beef onto a paper towel-lined plate.
-
Step four
Add remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and stir-fry vegetables to skillet. Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in garlic and ginger and cook about a minute longer.
-
Step five
Stir sauce and add to pan with vegetables. Cook until thickened, about a minute. Stir in beef and cook another minute, until hot. Serve your beef and broccoli stir-fry over rice.
